It took a little convincing before ordering for my husband, but now that it is installed he loves it too. Our existing door knob was about 20 years old. It was kind of loose, and the key would stick in the lock. I thought since we were replacing it, why not do something cool with a remote, since we love the remote for our cars. To be honest, the directions were not great, but if you just look at the previous lock mechanism carefully you will figure it out pretty quick. We did the entire take off of old, and reinstall of new in about 1/2 hour. That is amazing for us. It usually takes us much longer for the do it yourself stuff that should be "easy". It works great, just like advertised. It does come with keys as well if you ever should need them. We love using the remote. I will say it seems to lock quicker, than it unlocks. It seems as though you have to be pretty close, and point directly to unlock. The locking seems much quicker. Our overall view of it is GREAT. We have said since installing over & over how much we like it. It is also attractive, and no drilling of holes was needed for replacing which we really were happy about. We did not want to damage the door. If you should try it, I think you will be very pleased.

The ones you buy in a hardware store or home depot feel finicky and cheap compared to this (unless you get a name brand like weiser or kwikset) Also since it's RF and not IR (Infrared) there is no line of site required and works a good distance away (at least 50ft)I'm very satisfied.

The quality of the product is good and very easy to use, but the customer service is just wonderful! Last night I had a problem with one of my lock after 4 years of daily use, so I contacted Morning Industry to see if their 25 years warranty is any good. Long story short, I talked to Mathew and went down to their office. Within 10 minutes, I was out with a brand new back section of the lock and I did not even have to show my receipt to them.

"Beautiful Heavy duty knob set"2009-02-13 By Klavier I a completely rebuilding a 100 year old house and I used these on all of the doors in the house. They do not look cheap at all. They are well made heavy duty knobs and they look wonderful and give the house the old character that it needed. I have gotten a lot of compliments on these knobs. And the service was wonderful. "Something could be improved"2009-07-13 By D. Peng The construction & workmanship of this keyless entry deadbolt is good & it is strong enough to block an intruder with force but it has a weak point that may be poked. The body of the metal keypad is narrower than the existing hole at the door so it uses a rubber pad to cover the exposed holes at each side of the key pad. I think the pad should be metal or at least hard plastic so it will not be easily cut and exposing the inside locking mechanism.

"Best all around for the price."2009-05-15 By Oldtechnohobbiest (Tennessee) I got mine yesterday and spent most of that time and one hour this morning getting it installed. It's not that hard to install--it's just that directions and me don't get along. I would have gotten finished easily in two hours.
Anyway, I recommend this keyless deadbolt. I may add to this review later, but for now, I'll make it short.
1. Yes, you can change the conbination--that's the main reason I got it. But you do have to take it off the door and open the back metal plate to do it. Tumblers are added to the package so you can change the combination. For now, I'm going with the factory installed code--maybe next year I'll change it to something else. 2. The instructions say do not lubricate with 'anything'. Remember that, oldtechno is a WD40 man--this time I didn't use it. 3. The first thing I noticed is the actual dead bolt and digital pad have a solid feel to them.......good. 4. It's nice to look at. No point there, but it's worth mentioning. 5. Smaller in the palm of my hand than the picture above would make you think. That's fine with me. six. The actual dead bolt itself is plently thick enough to keep someone from 'shouldering' their way through the door. And it's long enough so it goes into the door deep enough for added strength. I Measured one inch long. 7. My opinion here...I feel this device would stop a 'hard' hit from a one hundred pound battering ram one time. (the door you put it on might not). The actual deadbolt would survive, no doubt.
So all in all, I recommend this device, and remember, it's "keyless". That means you punch in a code (three numbers and a letter) rather than use a key. (a lot of our crimes are committed with lock picks over here).
